CUBE hosted the most creative Craft Academy in Thessaloniki | Craftwork4.0All

For three inspiring days, artists from across Europe came together in Thessaloniki as part of the Craftwork4.0All project, proving that creativity and sustainability are the perfect match.

Using materials that would normally be thrown away, participants gave aluminium and fabrics a second life, transforming them into unique handmade jewellery and creative accessories.

On the first day, guided by the teachers of MOKUME Art Schools, participants turned recycled soft drink cans into eye-catching jewellery pieces, starting with sketches on paper and bringing their ideas to life through design.

On day two, ForMe Social Cooperative Enterprise introduced participants to the art of creating jewellery from denim fabric. Through the spiral pleating technique, old jeans were transformed into stylish and original creations.

The final day focused on textile upcycling. Women members of PLETENO Social Cooperative Enterprise from Xanthi guided participants in creating earrings, necklaces, and baskets from leftover factory fabrics, showing that imagination truly has no limits.

Alongside the in-person Academy, CUBE also organised an online Craft Academy focusing on European funding opportunities and the development of similar projects and collaborations. The event attracted significant interest and sparked engaging discussions.

And this is only the beginning! Stay tuned to CUBE for more creative experiences, inspiring collaborations, and exciting opportunities ahead.
