For CUBE, FOOTSTEPS – “In Solomon’s Footsteps: Memory, Resistance, Coexistence” is not just a European project. It is a journey of memory that begins in Thessaloniki, passes through Casentino, and extends across Europe.
Solomon Saltiel, a young Jewish soldier from Thessaloniki who was captured in Italy during World War II, left behind a powerful oral testimony — a voice preserved by his family and today serving as a bridge between peoples and generations.
On 31 July 2026, we were at the Castello dei Conti Guidi in Poppi for the first public presentation of the project. Together with our partners from Italy, Greece, and Germany, we honored a story that deserves to be heard.
