The National Strategy for the Equality of LGBTQI+ People (2021) marks another milestone for human rights and social inclusion in Greece!
A comprehensive policy and legal initiative, it focuses on law reform and the creation of new policies to ensure equality and protection for LGBTQI+ individuals.
Structured as a National Action Plan, it also includes public awareness campaigns designed to foster understanding and acceptance of LGBTQI+ rights across society.
Implemented at a national level, this strategy brings together the Greek Government, LGBTQ+ organizations, and educational and social partners.
Aligned with European Union human rights standards, the strategy aims to:
- Eliminate discrimination and ensure equal rights for LGBTQI+ individuals in all areas of life.
- Promote inclusion and visibility for LGBTQI+ people within Greek society.
- Ensure sustainability through collaboration with civil society, NGOs, and educational institutions.
This initiative has been highlighted as a good practice in the Greek National Report of the Proud Ambassadors, in which CUBE participates — contributing to the promotion of equality, social cohesion, and mental well-being among young people.
