Cyprus Theatre Festival 2025 as part of the European Co-Funded Project THEATRE IN PALM – Information and Participation Guidelines<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Cyprus Theatre Festival<\/strong>, organized by THOC, will take place from April 10 to 13, 2025<\/strong>, at the Theatre Apothikes THOC<\/strong> in Nicosia. This event is a celebration of theatrical art, centered around the themes of CARE<\/strong>, IDENTITY<\/strong>, and ISLANDS<\/strong>. It is held within the framework of the European co-funded project titled “THEATRE IN PALM”<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The festival aims to strengthen collaboration among emerging artists from across Europe, offering a platform to showcase innovative and culturally expressive performances. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Performances will be held in a black-box theatre, with each piece lasting 20-40 minutes maximum<\/strong>. Artists are encouraged to create small-scale<\/strong> productions<\/strong> that embrace creativity while adapting to the festival’s modular set design. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to Get Started<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To participate, you\u2019ll need to prepare a proposal that aligns with the festival’s themes and adheres to its specific guidelines. Here\u2019s what you\u2019ll need to consider: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Choose Your Performance<\/strong> <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Select a performance that fits the festival’s themes of CARE<\/strong>, IDENTITY<\/strong>, and ISLANDS<\/strong>. It should involve a small cast<\/strong> and have a duration of 20-40 minutes<\/strong>. Emerging artists are highly encouraged to participate. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. LanguageRequirements<\/strong> 
      Your performance can be in English<\/strong> or your native language, but if it\u2019s the latter, you must provide English subtitles<\/strong>. Translation and subtitle equipment are your responsibility, though the festival will supply projection tools. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        Each participant must submit a technical rider<\/strong>, detailing lighting, sound, and staging needs. The festival will pair you with a local light designer to run the shows, ensuring smooth execution. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
